I use my Apple ID to manage them. How do I assign a game center account to two other family members different than the one I use to manage the devices? I'd like to play games against them but we can't all use the same game center ID.
Posted on Jun 20, AM. Mar 6, AM in response to tennesseedave In response to tennesseedave. Whenever she tries to access her games through the FB App it shows my name as the player. I've added the second Game Center user as posted above and she logs in yet it still doesn't work correctly! Mar 6, AM. Apr 10, AM in response to lybryant In response to lybryant. Hi I've just seen this - and I am having the same problem with my son's game center. How did you solve it?
I contacted Apple but they were not very helpful My son and daughter both play dragonvale on their ipods and have a nickname each which were both set up using my apple id. However on Monday my son signed out of his which he never normally does but did on this occasion and now when he enters the apple id and password on his ipod when entering game center it brings up his sister's game center profile and not his.
We tried on her ipod and it still brings up hers not his. He is still visible as a friend on hers so we can see the account is still 'alive' but how on earth do we get his back.
If he tries to log in with his nickname under 'view account' it says ' this nickname is taken by another player' but that player is HIM. Is there any way we can sort this - even tried deleting his sister's account which was set up after his and she is not that interested in it - to see if hers went would my son's come back - but no joy!

Apr 22, AM in response to hlr74 In response to hlr Having exactly the same problem. My wife and I are playing poker, but since one day I signed onto her ipad as my gamecenter ID, both our accounts have somehow become mixed.
Whenever she logs in, it welcomes her on her ID, but plays on my ID. And vice versa. Not just on the ipad, but on either of our phones. We can't play on our own accounts, and have spent days trying to fix it.
Uninstalling game on all units. Restarting phones and ipad after each variation. This is doubly alarming, because thank god we're married and trust each other. If we weren't how does this huge oversight bug account for in-app purchases? Apr 22, AM. Then log back into game center with the nickname not the apple id. You can link multiple game centres to the main apple ID if it's for children, determined by the date of birth when you create them, so kids can login with their own password and not the main apple ID password.
Incidentally the game in question for me was Dragonvale too and I emailed the developer of the app and asked if they could transfer the game to another game Center ID which i created before I realised how to fix the issue and they said they could, so that was another option had I not resolved my login issue. For this create a new account and then email the developer and get them to transfer the game content from the original ID to the new one, they're more than happy to help.
Page content loaded. Jul 14, AM in response to tennesseedave In response to tennesseedave. I have the same problem and I cannot find the answer anywhere. Surely this is an issue with many families. Have you figured it out? Jul 14, AM. I got it to work. Here's what I did. I signed out of my account in game center and created a new game center id in the iphone game center login interface. I also did the same thing on my ipad for our daughter.
All three devices still use my apple id for syncing but they use their own game center id's for gaming. I can also sign my doughter out of game center on my ipad and sign back in with my id when i want to play on the ipad.
Oct 22, AM in response to tennesseedave In response to tennesseedave. This does not work for me. My only two choices are to create a new Apple ID account or to change the game center nickname.
When I change the game center nickname on one device, it changes the nickname on all of the devices. What am I doing wrong? Oct 22, AM. Oct 29, AM in response to tennesseedave In response to tennesseedave. Oct 29, AM. Nov 26, AM in response to tennesseedave In response to tennesseedave.
Dave, you rock! Worked perfectly on my wife's other iPad, even though we have a single "house" account to manage our Apple devices. Nov 26, AM. Jan 1, PM. Mar 27, PM in response to tennesseedave In response to tennesseedave. We just had some Game Center issues. Here is how you can create multiple users on the same apple ID. If there is a username already visible, tap where the user name is and hit the "X" to the right of it.
If the account is for a minor, it will not ask for an email address. A child will use their nickname along with their password to login. Apple's Game Center support cannot view minor accounts for some reason! Now each user can go to the game they want to play. They may be prompted to select which user is playing and login. I am not sure why some of you would have the name change on all devices.
It could be an automatic synching issue when connecting to iTunes or via iCloud. Check your iTunes preferences. Also, although you each created your own username and password, even with different email addresses for login purposes, apps will still be purchased under the original iTunes account.
If a user wants to make a purchase on their own individual devices, they will be required to enter the password for the iTunes account, not the password for their Game Center account. Mar 27, PM. I did exactly as you have done, so my son has a Game Center on his ipod with a nickname, and I have my one on my ipad, with different nickname. We both play Dragonvale and are linked as friends so I can 'visit' his game and he mine. Both use my Apple ID, which I know because when either of us buy jewels in the game it charges my account and the password I enter is the same.
He logged me out of my Game Center last week on my ipad and logged himself in, but when I went to log myself back in on the ipad it now won't recognise my version of Game Center. Any ideas how I can get this to work now? I can still see my version of Dragonvale and if I try logging in as him and amending the Nickname to mine it says it's already in use, so it's still there. Caofromnew York a BIG thank you I retread the link trail and realised what the issue was, am now back in my game Center, using the alias login.
Jun 15, AM in response to tennesseedave In response to tennesseedave. IM having the same issues but no idea how to fix it. Jun 15, AM. I realised that my game Center ID was actually the nickname I had assigned it and so I went to the reset apple ID password put that nickname in and then reset the password. I'm back in and all is ok. My sons game Center uses my actual apple ID as the login.
You can link multiple game centres to the main apple ID if it's for children, determined I suppose by the date of birth when you create them, so kids can login with their own password and not the main apple ID password. Incidentally the game in question for me was Dragonvale and I emailed the developer of the app and asked if they could transfer the game to another game Center ID before I realised how to fix the issue and they said they could, so that was another option had I not remembered my login.
