Pending Connection Requests – What is the Deal?
At some point in the recent past you opened your email address book to LinkedIn for the purpose of sending out invitations and you clicked to proceed with the operation before you fully read and understood what was about to happen. LinkedIn is sending out invitations to people automatically and your friend are getting annoyed with you.
How did this happen and how do you stop it from continuing? LinkedIn sent an invitation to each of the email addresses in your email address book but also LinkedIn will also send out two 2 invitation reminders to each email address in your email address book. And now friends on your e-mail list who are not in any way connected or not to LinkedIn will get this invite.
You will have to do this for each pending invitation on a one-by-one basis. There has been one other way that LinkedIn has gotten names from your contacts and that is through third-party applications where they have in their terms of agreement that they will access your information. Always read the terms before you agree to use something that seems an easy, click here solution. Will this do the same thing? NO without any doubt I have never ever opened my address book to send a LinkedIn invitation.
Yet, LinkedIn is sending out invites to every person in my address book and also every friend on my facebook Count. At first, LinkedIn sent me a list of names from my address book and facebook asking if I would like to connect to them. I deleted this page and never approved any. Since they gain big bucks from ads this devious procedure enables LinkedIn to vastly expand their coverage to more members.
Some folks may approve their address book names in error but I know they hacked my sites. Hi Bud, did you in some way sync your phone with an app.
Often when people do this it automatically adds the contacts in your phone to list of contacts. In your settings there are ways to delete the lists that they have. I explicitly did NOT give Linkedin permission to address my address book but they are obviously doing it anyway. Perhaps when my daughter passes her Bar exam I will have a discussion with Linkedin about their policies.

LinkedIn Increases the Number of Connection Requests You are Allowed to Send
Allison Shields January 21, Marketing 8 Comments. One of the best ways to begin building your LinkedIn network is by connecting with people that you already know in real life. However, when uploading your address book to LinkedIn, use caution. Thankfully, there is something you can do about it — if you act quickly, before the person you invited takes action on the invitation. LinkedIn allows you to withdraw invitations that have not yet been accepted.

View Sent Messages and Invitations on LinkedIn
Jun 23, Jan Tegze 4. LinkedIn is a powerful networking platform and every week we create new virtual connections with people who send us invites and with those we would like to add to our network. If you send a LinkedIn invitation to a friend or work colleague, it is often accepted within 24 hours. Then you see some influential people on LinkedIn and you think that it would be great to connect with them. You read all their articles on LinkedIn Pulse and you would love to meet them if they are available, or just chat with them over LinkedIn. Maybe you are just expanding your network and you find some interesting people that you would like to add to your network, in case you ever find yourself looking for a job. After two weeks, they are still not in your network and you are wondering why they did not accept your invitation. Maybe they did not even receive notification from LinkedIn, or perhaps they are on vacation, or just busy.
Why LinkedIn Is Automatically Sending Out Invites
LinkedIn is a social network aimed at business professionals and can be a useful resource for making professional contacts. As with many similar sites, a LinkedIn relationship begins when one user requests that another form a relationship with them: this is known as adding the user to your network. The user receiving the request must accept the request before the pair will be linked on the site. The consequences of rejecting this request depend on the way in which you reject it.
There is a ceiling limit on the number of connections you can have in your LinkedIn Profile of 30, Once you reach this limit LinkedIn will not allow you to connect with any other users. Another limit on LinkedIn is that you are limited to send out only invitations to connect.
What Happens When You Hit Ignore in LinkedIn?
We send a lot of connection requests on behalf of our clients for prospecting. The number of pending connection requests you currently have is something you need to check on every so often because if you have too many pending connection requests, LinkedIn will not let you send any more connection requests. When you withdraw some of yours pending connection requests, you can resend the connection request after three weeks. It may be worthwhile to capture all or some of those names in a spreadsheet or on a piece of paper so you can reconnect within three weeks.
You can only send invites on behalf of the authenticated user. Once an invitation has been created, you can retrieve that invitation to check on it's status. For example, the invitation may be accepted or rejected. You can also retrieve a list of invitations sent out by the authenticated user, as well as a list of invitations they have received. Once you have an Invitation's unique identifier, you can retrieve information on its current state.
When you send a connection invitation on LinkedIn, the receiver gets an email allowing him to accept or deny the invitation. If the person hasn't responded to the invitation, you may withdraw it so that the invitation no longer appears in the recipient's connection requests. LinkedIn invitations automatically expire if the person doesn't respond within several weeks, so you won't need to manually withdraw invitations that have expired. Log in to LinkedIn and click the "Add Connections" at the top right corner of the page. Click the "View Sent Invitations" link on the right side of the page.
