Hi I need opinions or even advice. I have been with my husband for almost 17 years. He had told me that he is a failure as a husband and father. His 2nd Marriage didnt work cause she was getting in the middle of fights with the 1st wife. I come along year and years later we have 2 teenagers now they are great kids but when we have fights he throws it in my face see I am not a great husband and father even though I have shown him and reassured him he is a great father and husband in so many different ways.
Well we had a fight and he always is on our daughters side who is are oldest when all I am doing is correcting her and getting her to be more mindful, responsible, respectful and for her to put some of her priorities straight but he was mad at me for being mad at her. So what I am asking is this!
So scared, but want out. Have no family left, have asked numerous people for help, with no success. Have suffered with depression for at least 30 years. So what next?
My husband and I have different of opinions when it comes to fighting off woman and men in our marriage. What am I supposed to do? How am I suppose to be when these females dont respect our marriage or us being together please help. I still love and miss him so much, is there any chance for us or should I give up? I need some one to give me advice.. I love him with everything in me he is my everything and it kills me to even think he dont.
We had an arranged marriage as is common in our community and since the beginning its been difficult. He has a terrible temper and suspicious nature. Twisting my arm, shoving, abusing me and my family, demeaning me, nagging, trying to choke me. I work full time from home as we have a baby girl now and I somehow manage everything but he insists I shpuld quit my job. Yes he takes out some cash for groceries but depends on my card for payments for utilities, flight bookings.
We fight and then suddenly he is normal and will take me out for dinner. He generally prefers low cost eateries or food vans. He has never helped with our daughter, no diaper changing or feeding etc.
He expects me to be active socially, late night parties with a baby etc and I have done this for him. He hates how I look because I put on weight post pregnancy as I could not find time for gym and constantly mocks me and calls me names. It will be 6 years this year. And I fear leaving him. I have a wonderful friend who has loved me for 10 years and wanted to marry me.
He still does. I hesitate because I am so confused, he has always been a friend not someone I have loved. Thank you for being here. It takes a lot of courage to talk about the signs that your marriage may be over.
Thank you for your honesty, and your strength. You may not feel strong right now — but trust me, your strength is shining through. You sound like me in a lot of ways! What about you? Do you see all the things that you do right in your marriage?
Do you see your strengths, good qualities, and ways in which you are an amazing and beautiful woman? I think the only way for you to know if you can find the strength you need to leave someone you have been with forever is by leaving. I think strength comes when you need it, not before. Courage comes when you are afraid, not before you need it. Maybe the pain of being a divorced woman will be worse than living in an empty and dead marriage. Take time to read it, and take time to listen to your intuition.
